Job Title: Administrative Support Worker

Job Summary: To perform general administrative duties and provide support to the organization as required. This position ensures the functioning of the organization through completion of key duties, problem solving and troubleshooting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General Duties: acting as reception for the agency, general clerical duties (photocopying, mailing, and filing), ordering supplies, email communication, oversees office equipment, communicates with Pearkes staff regarding facility maintenance, managing payments and receipting including for Full o’ Beans preschool;
  • Room Bookings: Coordinates bookings with community user groups, staff and Pearkes Rec Centre booking clerks. Manages Birthday Party bookings, advertising, training, payments, and scheduling of staff
  • Communications & Advertising: Assists with Agency communications and programs through desk top publishing tasks, monthly calendar and website maintenance, manages updates to our Social Media channels
  • Other staff and program support as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience working in a social service  office environment
  • Post Secondary education in office administration or a related program, early childhood education, or social services would be an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Social Media

Compensation: One Year Maternity Leave Contract, $17.12 per hour, Tuesdays & Thursdays (15 hrs/wk)

Position: Childminder

Requirements:

  • Relevant Childcare Experience
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Job Related References
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of child development
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Works as part of a team

Schedule: Monday – Friday, varied mid-day or evening hours, 5-12 hours/week

Supervisory Duties:

  • Models exemplary child care techniques and behaviour
  • Ensures that parents properly complete the sign-in and sign out process at the beginning and end of every session, including appropriate notes of any special considerations or important information necessary to properly care for the child
  • Maintains communication with the Manager of Children’s Programs regarding any issues that arise

Related Expectations:

  • Participates in appropriate Professional Development as suggested
  • Communicates in a positive manner with parents and colleagues
  • Ensures child-minding space is set up and cleared up appropriately each day
  • Performs other related duties as requested
