Best Babies is funded through the Vancouver Island Health Authority and offers support to pregnant women and their newborns up to 6 weeks of age. Women attend weekly group sessions that cover topics including prenatal education, health, nutrition and infant care.
Women have an opportunity to socialize over a nutritious lunch. Child minding is offered during the educational session for families who have older children over 6 months. Parents also receive food vouchers, bus tickets, vitamins, information and other support when needed.
Baby Group Drop-in
This Drop-in program is geared toward parents and caregivers of children aged birth to 12 months old. It provides parents with an opportunity to meet and explore topics such as baby development, sleep, safety, health and parents’ wellness and self-care. The Drop-in takes place in the Playroom on Wednesdays from 1:00-2:30pm.

Mom’s Take a Break
A health and wellness, self-care break for moms – all ages are welcome. Moms get together, share lunch and participate in different approaches to self-care. Activities include painting for relaxation, fitness, yoga, and participant led presentations.
Moms can also set up a community network to swap childcare and share other skills and services to support one another. SNP provides childcare, bus tickets and lunch.
“Because there are no perfect parents”. This program is geared toward parents and caregivers of children aged birth to six years old. Nobody’s Perfect is designed to strengthen positive parenting skills.
The sessions are free, interactive, and fun. Nobody’s Perfect gives parents a safe place to meet others with children of the same age and with whom they share interests or concerns. The program is facilitated by a trained Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator. There is childminding available and snacks are provided.
10-week group program for parents or caregivers of pre-teens and teens who struggle with significant behaviour problems and mental health issues.
Love 2 Learn
Parents and caregivers learn basic at-home language and literacy skills for their children ages 3-5 years
Triple P Plus
Triple P Plus is for parents of children 1-10 years old. In this course you will learn about effective parenting strategies, how to promote your child’s development, how to manage common behaviour problems and principles to help you deal with almost any situation. Bus tickets are provided.
The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is a group experience for parents and their babies and young children which focuses on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories together.
Parents gain skills and confidence which can enable them to create positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years, and give their children healthy early experiences with language and communication. Offered during Strong Starts throughout the 2015-2016 school year.
